Check this from the same web site...

http://www.mother-of-tone.com/creation.htm

"Like the BYOB amplifier, the complete electronic assembly of the Creation ADC is vibrationally optimized, as the pcb is flat-press-mounted on a specially treated spruce-board. This construction is time-consuming during manufacture, but improves sound quality, as all components are mechanically coupled to a musical sound board."

I'm not sure what "flat-press-mounted" means, but those look suspiciously like screws to me...

The Tube-o-later people have a new audiophile term; see the last sentence:
You will feel nervous when listening to the "harsh" device and you will relax when listening to the treated device. However, if you listened about 15 min. to the treated device and then switch back to the "harsh" device, it won't be as bad as before. Your sound perception has changed. When we recognized this strange phenomenon we coined the term "Ears been oiled".

Yeah, gotta watch out for old EBO.

Isn't "spruce" the wood they use in harpsichords and guitars for its "resonance" properties? Not sure how this would be better. Maybe they punch the circuit board to the wood thereby making it impossible to work on the underside of the board (or to see the circuit layout) What ever floats your boat...

My thoughts exactly !

I've been Pine-ing for one of those units.

I hear they're quite Poplar.

Can't believe anyone has the Balsa to claim it doesn't help the sound.

Kinda chaps my Ash.

Mapleshades sells maple blocks to set your speakers on. They claim maple makes them sound better. I wonder what they'd be using if they were called the Birch Sisters Solutions or Joe Pine Audio Products.

In Charle's defence, he is one very smart design engineer.

The 0 x OS ADC could just very well be sonically, a
groundbreaking product.

Has anyone contacted him about auditioning one?

Cheers,

We've had some, shall we say, interesting discussions with this fellow in here already. He's got some very cute amps built on wooden blocks, too.
