TAXI
« on: August 27, 2005, 01:44:46 PM »

Anyone use TAXI?

I was just curious if anyone has had any success with it.  Is it worth the price?

I have a songwriter that's damn good who uses them and they haven't done squat for him. Everything he gets he gets on his own.

If I'm all "hush hush" about Taxi, it's because I don't know one single person who's ever used them to any success whatsoever.

Take that FWIW.

It seems to me that if you can't make your own contacts in this business, that means you got nothing worthwhile to bring to it, so how is an outfit like Taxi going to help you?

Is pointing as bad as a full frontal finger?

nah.

Anyway, people prolly shut up about it because they are caught throwing their money at an orginization that is no better than a telemarketer hive preying on elderly folks.

All I can add is that I know several very good writers who joined and then never re-upped.  That says something.

Best regards.

I wonder what it says.  It could be any of these and maybe a few I haven't thought of.

a) The songs weren't quite the right songs for whatever whoever was looking for.

b) They weren't good enough songs for whatever whoever was looking for.

c) There is an enormous amount of competition

d) Taxi sucks.

What solutions are there when you want to get music heard in front of people with wallets?

That's what I'm reading in "All You Need to Know In The Music Business".  Great book.
