(There are exceptions if you can call it an exception. I cheered when the  government lost the case on the "culling" rights to logs in a forest recently against when the EPA (another government department) called their bluff)

Surely BK there are legal  things you can do in the US, so that if you ever get sued AND lose.....you technically have no assets that can be liquidated.

Having your assets in your spouse's name for example.

I believe I'd rather take my chances getting sued by the RIAA.  

Putting your life's savings and gear in your future ex-wife's hands?

AFAIK the onus is on the one ordering the replication.  You MUST have all of the paperwork in place and fees paid PRIOR to having CD's replicated at any manufacturing plant in the country that is on the RIAA radar.

But, in order to CYA you should have a form that the client signs that specifically states that THE CLIENT is responsible for that end of things.
