Wave Lab vs. Sound Forge ?? WTH
« on: August 22, 2005, 02:56:10 PM »

Hi This is my first post here in the computer forum.

I'm a long time recorder and have never had a computer before! I have some brief experience on a Pro Tools LE rig and it was Cool.

So, I have a Pentium PC. It won't be my last machine, I'm not looking to set any records - Just do 2 tracks and a little 24ch (if possible) 16 bit 44.1 thing.

My first question - Is there a big difference between Wave Lab and Sound Forge? Can some users that have time on both give their impression? I think these are in the same class. If not please tell me.

Next, what about the 'Light' versions. I'm not going to be doing 5.1 or high rez. To start with, I really want to rip discs for clients.

This is my strategy, and I will add as invoicing dictates.

Hey steve, i dont think you could go wrong either way. I like wavelab, and samplitude, i havnt tried sound forge, but one cool thing about wavelab is that it has great meters for mastering.
