analog fun
« on: August 19, 2005, 03:34:12 AM »

any other analog junkies out there want to share some of their experiments in analog effects and routing.

I primarily use a 2" 24 track machine, but today I picked up a Tascam 1/4" four track.  After taking it apart and getting the capstan moving I had alot of fun making some quick tape loops.

I set up each of the four tracks to the four aux sends on my board and ran some guitar into it.......needless to say that with a loop going with different textures on the four tracks was quite amusing.

This weekend I plan on making a tape loop where each of the four tracks have a different note (most likely from a guitar with lots of effects to create a pad type of sound), then run each track through a gate that's keyed by a different drum (kick triggers the G major chord on channel one, snare triggers the F on channel 2, etc.)

anyone else having fun in analog land lately?  There's gotta be some one out there that can teach this youngun some old tricks
