Wacom Graphire vs. Intuos
« on: August 18, 2005, 11:47:56 AM »

After testing both, I have found the Intuous has a better touch response.  It kills me to give up the wireless aspect of the Graphire, but I'm going to have to go with the wired version.

It's for one simple reason:  when I hold the pen stylus at an angle (which is like 97% of the time), the Graphire will sometimes fail to register a click when you tap on the pad.  Sometimes I'll have to tap multiple times.  The Intuous is sensitive to angled taps, and after my second time playing with it at the store, I found it never failed to register.

I couldn't care about how many levels of pressure sensitivity or airbrush features it may or may not have, but that one essential feature is so important that I'm going to have to exchange my Graphire and get the wired Intous.

I hate wires, but I hate an unreliable response even worse!

So if anybody is in the market, that might be of some help.
