Third Dimension : Vocals FX Tips and Tricks
« on: July 17, 2005, 09:41:11 PM »

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for helping me out with my first date with Dual compressor technique. Like some of you mentioned I did end up using my own ears but your suggestions saved me time and money Razz

Now, I would like you to guide me through my next quest. I want to know how to create those third dimensional reverbs, that are invisible to our ears. (My English is a bit rusty but I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say). Anyhow, I've heard that if you use delay before reverb and then apply reverb to the delayed signal you can create some magic that can keep vocals totally in front of your music and yet can allow for this third dimension to happen.

So, I'd be forever grateful if you can share your tricks, stories, specific settings for both delay and reverb. BTW my two songs that I'm working on are slow/mid tempo 78 and 80 bpm. I'm dealing with female vocals that were recorded with NEVE PRISM, trekker + dbx 160, Rode K2 and M147
Thank you.
