I remember seeing an article on how the ultra long CD-R's are burned but I need to google it again - very curious to read up on this also. If I find the link I'll post it - but if someone has something now please put the link up.

They get the pitch as tight as possible, then reduce the size of the pits to squeeze it on there.
Great for party discs, but looks like a recipe for incompatibility....
