One guy moved out of the studio, so I am upgrading...I had a PC built, (P4 with 2gig proc, 90 gig drive for audio), and I am looking at...
Motu interface (for 24 analog i/o)
Glyph 3 bay (gt103)
software (cubase?)
UAD card for plug-ins
So, based on that, how many tracks and plug ins are reasonable to run on a daily basis?? Ballpark, of course, 24? 64? I loves me some eq, comp, verb, etc etc etc. but also loves me some tracks (usually 14-25 on drums, 10-18 for guitar, etc)
I must say my "outdated" system of my mackie d8b & Mdr has NEVER crashed, locked, lost anything, or anything else. I need more than 24 tracks and need the nonlinear editing (right now I use 24 at at a time, sub mix and record 22 more on v tracks)
Help???
Thanks to all
