i'm a surgical-oriented person myself, and can't understand why you couldn't simply make a high shelf in the Red-eq and get the "air" you're looking for.

not sure why linear-phase FIR would produce better "air" than double-processed liner-phase IIR.



I am not an expert on the total sound of the orange versus the red, but so far I prefer the red. The high end of the two may be similar, but I'm floored by the low end of the Red. The red also has continuously adjustable shelves and curves that would give my friend George Massenburg fits but which I like. To each his own. (Yes, I also like the Massenburg EQ a lot, it's a different animal with a very nice character)
