Looking for BUDGET tracking room in Seattle
« on: June 01, 2005, 03:14:50 PM »

Hope this kind of post is ok.  I'm working with a guy who's out in Seattle, and I'm here on the east coast.  He does a sort of electric freak-folk thing, just a few guitar tracks and a vocal.  I'm try to find somebody who'll just handle the tracking.  Virtually no budget -- $500 is what he's got.  I don't picture it taking a lot of time, given the kind of music it is, but still we're talking about tracking a record for peanuts.

I do this kind of thing all the time, and I'm hoping somebody'll know someone who'd be into it.

Email's bobby at theyarrow dot com.  Thanks.

there is an old friend of mine that posts here from time to time, he lives out in seattle now.  his screen name is "trodden"

find him, drop him a PM and see what he might know of.  he's a cool guy and probably has some resources to help out, or maybe not......it's worth asking either way.

hope that helps.

Hey there.  I have a studio in downtown Seattle.  Pretty good tracking room, 2" tape machine, PTLE, 20' halfpipe, good mics, outboard mic pres, a few comps/eq's, ect.  We're much more of a tracking studio then a mixing studio.

A little client list:

Pretty Girls Make Graves, The Turn Ons, Carrissas Wierd, Band of Horses, Popular Shapes, Tractor Sex Fatality, The New Mexicans, Cruthes.

We're $200/day, pretty laid back enviroment, slightly "industrial", and easy to work with.  let me know if you're still lookin.

echotp does some excellent work.  Unbelievable and unbeatable for 35/Hr.

I mastered a disc from a band called "Night Train" that echotp worked on. The band really enjoyed the experience and the extra mile put forth.

Peace,
Dennis
