AES xlr interface
« on: May 20, 2005, 10:42:08 AM »

I recently sold my analog Mackie 8 buss and am setting up a system using Sonar 4 PE. I am using a Firepod and a P4 2.2 with 1GB ram, 80gb hd and 160 gb hd. I have a Masterlink that I would like to continue using. The Masterlink has both unbalanced and balanced digital in. My reading has convinced me that I will get better results by using the AES xlr inputs. So far, I am leaning towards a Lynx one. Is there another route that I might wish to consider? The Masterlink will be used for 24/96 masters. My understanding is that the spdif unbalanced inputs do not support a 24 bit word depth.
Thanks,
Steve
