mackie hdr vs alesis hd 24 xr
« on: May 06, 2005, 05:10:48 PM »

which one has better converters?which one has a better operating sys?i am aware the alesis has no virtual tracks, less undo's and other features but it looks like it's cheaper to run sessions but, does it intergrate through firewire with any software. the mackie is almost the same price with more features but more expensive to run{not to mention another grand for anaglog i/o}and appears to only run with it's own software. is this true. what gives?I still have 2 months worth of saving before i purchase one of the above which i'll be using with a soundcraft ghost ?which one do you use and with what analog mixer.I also like the option of possibly staying digital and only using my ghost for tracking and or monitoring to the multitrack and mixing down on a pc which one is best at  both?
