747 on the stereo buss chain
« on: May 05, 2005, 01:00:41 AM »

I haven't used my 747 in a while, and so adding it to my newly analog chain with the Folcrom and Buzz Audio MA2.2, with just a little EQ, and very slight compression, sounds great.

I was just wondering if anyone else had the 747 on their stereo buss?

Yes!  747 into a HEDD works well for me.

Hey,

I use the 747 as part of my mastering chain and I think it's a sweet sounding box!  You should be okay with it on the 2 mix but one thing I've noticed is that the gain reduction meter is a little slooooow. So be careful, you may be whacking the peaks harder then you realize.

peace

Michael Brauer uses it in this manner according to an interview.

have used it to great effect on drum bus in R'nB mixes, & mastering some house tracks; a used one is good bang for buck, IMHO
