Tryin to Learn from the Best..

hello, how are yall doin?
i been searching all through the internet for a site like this...wit people that know whut they're doing..
im an artist, that just got some equipment and is workin on puttin together a mixtape/music...dont have much to start off wit but im workin wit an At3035,M-audio DMP3,e-mu 0404 and a small behringer mixer...i was just wonderin if u guys could critique my quality and let me know whut i can do to improve...up top theirs a dry sample n a mix sample i recently did..but if ud like to peep somethin instead and drop some pointers i'd appreciate it..A BIG THANKS

heres a dry sample wit nothing done to it, if u could tell me wut can i bring out and any effects i could add to make it sound good, it'll be very helpful,

I'm not "the best" but I'll comment.

I mix a lot of Rap and from what I can tell listening through my IPOD phones on the laptop it's ok.

I can't get a feel for the bass content but the vocals sound clear and well recorded and the beat is nice.  The mix on the first sounds better than the dry mix.
