Cool!  Go for it!

FWIW, I thought my song idea was pretty weak, but I finished it anyway and ended up having a blast doing it.

Is it any good?  Who knows?!

IMO, the more songs submitted the better, no matter what level of songwriting / recording / production.

I sure know I left being a perfectionist behind on this one. Almost every track on mine is a first take, giant size warts ands all left in!

So, fire up those recorders, and get that red light on!  (and don't forget to f**k up on the rhythm right after the last break!)

de de de de, de de deee, de de de de DEE, dadededede, de de de ....... (Jeapordy theme)

Pretty much have wanked enough on this one and haven't touched it since last week. Hopefully i'll have a couple hours to mix it this week.

Just started Saturday.  Barely a scrap of an idea, and it doesn't follow my original concept of making it as poppy as possible in the interest of thumbing my nose at the original, but it may well come to fruition yet.

I did a second guitar part today and re-did the Whirly.  I'm gonna snag a bas tomorrow and do that.  I'm thinking of some weird noise thing and I need to pick one of my singer/lyrics to belt someting out for me...

I really should write a melody and play it on the vibes.

I'm new around here, seems like a great forum... stumbled in here and found this contest, listened to the drum track and poof, three late nights later I think I have something to enter...

I've only been working with the steadman room mic now, and damn that sounds fantastic. It's a blast to write/play with such great drumming... usually I end up sequencing pansy indie pop drums and using more 'coustic sounds.

My tune is a mess right now, and unlikely to get better since I'm a hack.  Rolling Eyes  But I think I'll get something together to submit by the deadline...

Cheers,

Looked back in the original thread and you called it

"we've never really tackled our own little "indie rock" mix fest."

So.....  Let the fest begin!

Deadline is shortly after theIndy 500 ends!

How's that for a segue!?  Indy 500 is this weekend!  Talk about psyched.  Me and 300,000 of my closest friends all collecting in one place to watch people and incredibly expesive machines do crazy things! (unfortunately, 275,000 of them won't be wearing ear protection!)

Anywho, let the FEST! begin!

I'll just say that it's a contest to see if you can get something done.  If you submit a song, you win!

Too many times, on this forum, we've done a songwriting thing that gets no to little attention (this is first first time I've participated).  I think this will be the most successful one yet...

"Tick Tock" is right...

Finished up final tracking tonight...need to tweak the mix a bit and convert to MP3 then I'm done.

Not sure it's any good but it's a song.

Actually came out not near as weird as I was orginally thinking which may be a good or bad thing.
