a really great sounding record!
what mic did you use for accordion on this tune? it sounds like it was miked at least 4 ft away....

The primary microphone is the AEA R-88, with the band gathered around.  There are a few spot mics; I think I had a Coles 4038 on Jenny's accordian, but I don't know if Troy used it in the mix.  I think Jenny was five or six feet away from the AEA mic.  

That song went down live except for the ladies' vocals, the church organ and the sinking ship, and we decided that there wasn't quite enough guitar in the R-88 so we overdubbed one.
