I agree that the markings on the faceplate are VERY approximate, in fact the first thing I did was to send pink noise through the unit, on a tight Q, and see exactly what the freq centers are on each detent, with an analyzer, and chart the actual freq -vs- how they're labelled. The results were accurate at some, and surprisingly "off" on other centers.
I've found the same tendency on the GML & Sontecs as well. But I guess perfectly accurate labelling is really not that crucial, since like you mentioned, we tune EQs by ear, rather than by number.
question: is their a 70-80Hz "hole" on the NSEQ-2?
