to see Dan Lavry's response to this...
Gotta admit, the guy was able to throw virtually every 'hifi' descriptive term used by audiophools into one paragraph - that's impressive!

I'll tell you mine. We used amps containing several of the devices at key points in our amps at the 2002 CES. We took orders for several big systems at that event. The room was about 36'x 24' x 10', the system had only 4 x 7" woofers, and the designer from Nearfield Acoustics ("Pipedreams", $80k, -3dB about 15Hz) refused to believe we had no subs. It was terrifyingly good.
