cna you help me decide on a monitor ( £2000 )
« on: March 23, 2005, 10:12:06 AM »

hi everyone,
please could you give me some advice

i am looking to buy some new monitors next week - my price is up to 2k

i am making house music and would like to get some monitors that lend themselves to this kind of music - i tend to make music at a fairly low level not liking to sit in an enviroment which is painfully loud, so looking for nearfields.

kindly digital village are getting some monitors for me to demo next week. the list below are the ones i have been suggested to listen to. if anyone can suggest any other monitors i need to ask for please do, also if anyone has noticed any floors in the following speakers i would appreciate their honest opinions.

GENELIC 8040
PMC TB2'S
FAR OB10
ADAM P22'S

I've never been very trusting in shop assistants, because without meaning to be rude here...they are rarely the ones making records so as such maybe they dont always have the best opinions and on many a time with hardware they have attempted to sell me really weak items. so eternally grateful to anyone who can help me with this important purchase. i think many of these spkrs are under 2k although that was what i had asked them to consider.

p.s. my studio is an untreated enviroment.
