Lol I visited a local community radio station a few years back to find out why everything sounded like run through a meat grinder..they proudly showed me their master comp in "Bypass Mode", with all knobs neatly pointing to 12 o'clock, just like the tone controls on a HiFi...and then I went nad had some coffee.

You dunno why did they number it L1, L2 and L3? Because you ought to use them cascaded like: L1 > L2 > L3 Thanks Brad! Brad, really thinking of emailing US Santa Claus this time..

Garrett, you slay me sometimes...
Now you have me thinking, I might need some Focusrite Red stuff, even though I've never dug the way it sounds...

For sheer transparency, nothing (sans Funk Logic equipment, that is) beats the Focusrite Red 0. You should check it out, it will give you that "RED" in your rack that you're looking for. Cheers, Tomas Danko

Probably not. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&i tem=3776923358 - A 'vintage' Red 0 went for 50GBP [/jumping-jesus emoticon] FWIW, I like the Red EQ, mostly for the high shelf and low-mid band .. and the Blue 230 compressor is very nice. .. and very blue. However, I'm lacking in orange gear. In my rack, I've clearly got the other Bozo-the-Clown-colors covered.. and that Crane Song ill-green glow.. Something orange would put me over the top. -dave

FYI, the RED 0 is a blind rackplate to fill up gaping holes between other Focusrite RED products. It has identical sonical properties to the Funk Logic range, sans the VU meters. The guy wanted more RED, right? It's as good a red in a rack as anything else... Regarding the Focusrite RED series, for the last two weeks I've been using one of their preamps as a talkback solution. That's my personal opinion on those units. AMEK Purepath CIB's did the real job, meanwhile. Sincerely, Tomas Danko

Geez - and here I was really wanting to get a black face plate made for my Lavry Blue so that it would match the Medici, Filtek, NTP, and Coleman stuff sitting in the same rack! Kind of going for the "man in black" / Darth Vader / Dieter from Sprockets look to all my gear - somehow it fits NYC well. hmmm... looks like an API2500 will fit right in with my "color scheme" too.
