I know you guys probably wont like the style... but I was hoping somebody might be able to give some constructive advise on this mix... at the moment I think it sounds ok, but what do you think I could do to make it better???
http://www.carltaylor.org/audio/auterform_new.mp3
I showed it to one of my friends and he said that the drums where a bit too loud..
Anyone??
Thanks
Carl.

Why don't you try to get it played in a club?
Otherwise I think the 1st violins could come
up a tad..
Sorry.

That snare/clap thing is way too dry..and the highhat thing could come down a touch..the pads/synth's near the end could use some treatment also.

The claps are too loud, but the four on the floor bass drums aren't. Just make sure you can play it through a bass bin and have it sound as good as through a home stereo.

I usually find if it sounds good on the stereo / in the car.. it sounds even better in a club..
ive done some of things youve suggested anyway guys..
http://www.carltaylor.org/audio/auterform_new_mix2.mp3
I also brought the whole drum group down 1.5 db...
BTW the reverb for the clap fades up as the track getts busier..
What do you think to it now??
Thanks
Carl.
