... the joys of recording in stereo with omni mics.

Today was acoustic guitar day and instead of the usual x/y with a couple of cardioids  I chose to place a couple of AKG TL-II's in a good sounding position and set to omni.  It's gotta be one of my favorite acoustic guitar sounds in a damn long time...

... even with 414's

Any other fun omni experiences anyone?  Bueller?

One other fun recently.. a big band with 3 mics in omni.  Sounded good, can't wait to get a copy of it.

Don't forget to check mono!

Old school, glad you found (that one for you) it, rock on.

1000+ more things as this to discover. Use it, abuse it and do it.

No one should ever tell you it is locked in, it is very diverse how you can do things and change things.

Sound, do it.

Prima donna... she couldn't stay steady at the mic so the color was changing with every single movement. We suggested using a headstet but she wouldn't agree. Moved her to a smaller drier vocal booth and set the mic to omni. Smash the compressor when mixing and the color was steady all the way.
