nomination for the Honor Roll
« on: February 20, 2005, 02:51:55 AM »

Figured I counter the "sausage fest / playa hatin" undertones to one of the threads here by giving props to Judith Sherman for mastering on the Philip Glass String Quartet's played by Kronos Quartet released on Nonesuch a few years ago.  Really sweet sounding, fantastic sense of space, and it's untouched dynamics make all of us sound like members of the "mafia".

Best regards,
Steve Berson

maybe we should start a label like :

"un-squashed piece of art, totally done in purpose"

Who knows, we might start a trend here. For every client who comes with that "bring me this to an insane level" attitude, we could give him some

"oh man, this is sooooooo over, haven't you been listening to modern mastering lately ?"

One can dream ...
