Has anyone heard the sound quality of the Mackie software?

I haven't use it, but I suggest to get a demo and try it out yourself. It's not an evidence if someone else think it's good or bad. Softwarewise there are many tastes, so you should try it, and make your own decision.

I've tried it.  It's easy to figure out - and like any other DAW software, it's easy to make it sound like crap.  I've found it to be useful, I'm not nearly as religious about DAW software as some guys.  They all do pretty much the same thing, IMHO, YMMV
