As to the lack of morality and ethics of big corporations, there's a book out called
"The Corporation" by a famous law professor and he makes the case that big corporations inherently posess the trait of being "psychopaths." Basically, he shows that too many big corporations don't care about "right from wrong, good from bad, defective products from high quality products" but only about expansion and the "bottom line." Since they have only this "bottom line" mentality built in to the corporate laws, he shows how this can lead to really bad decisionmaking having a negative impact on society as a whole.
He suggests some possible reforms, which, if enacted, could have some positive influence on the music that we hear.
Anyway, it's easy to understand, fairly short, and worth a read.
