A friend of mine is looking to sell his Topaz 14-4 to upgrade to a more powerful desk. I need just a small mixer llike that to record my band's live rehearsals. As it looks like, most people here prefer the sound of Topaz to other low end junk. Will this thingy sound better compared to Mackie VLZ?
I am basically looking to interface it with my portable studio:
Mixer to RME Multiface's 8 in's to a laptop.
Anyone knows about this particular board?
What should I pay for it, if everything works as good as he thinks?

Depends. How do the features compare with the Topaz?
