DVD-A to DVD-R
« on: February 04, 2005, 12:11:48 PM »

Just getting into surround mixing. I would like to burn my 24/96k linear PCM 5.1 mixes to DVD-R for clients to listen to as DVD-A discs. What does this on a mac. As far as I have been able to figure out, DVD Studio Pro requires either AC3 or DTS encoding. Not really digging either of these options. Tho DTS does sound better than AC3, to me. Anyway what are people using to burn 1-off DVD-A discs on a mac?

The new Toast 7 will burn DVD-V 24bit 96kHz audio.  They are not DVD-Audio disks but it's almost better that way, in that they will be compatible with any DVD player.  It's basically a Video DVD without the picture.  It does however allow you to put a stationary picture as the background for each individual track.   They call it "Music DVDs".  Check it out.
