If you recorded in PCM and saved the file to mp3, there may be a copy of the original in your Temp folder if the file size allotment is large enough. What I would be concerned about, is why it disappeared. It shouldn't have. Do a search for .wav in the laptop and see if it finds any .wav's with untitled.wav as the file name.

Good advice Ronny. I find that in forge, it is best to open several windows for recording and catch them in 78 min segments.

Files that long is asking for trouble. It is easy to simply pause, highlight another recording window and resume. You lose 1 second and that is not an issue. Just cut your edits at a good oppurtune time (like right before the downbeat of the next song)

Open your project folder and see if there are large .wav files in there - when Samp is recording, it's writing to disc at the PCM rate you set before you started recording...

Ya know - there is a file size limitation in Windows (forget what it is right now) - maybe the 6 hour length exceeded what can be handled by either the OS or the app.   The wav file should be there somewhere though - it just might have cut off at a certain point.
