It's the input that counts! Where's the Hi-Fi multichannel A-Ds?
« on: December 04, 2004, 09:54:13 AM »

I see quite a bit of discussion on clocks/jitter & converters but not much on the actual audio circuitry connecting them.  Digital front ends must be sonically improved in my opinion.

Is there a discrete, class A, transformer coupled or passive balanced AD-DA on the market anywhere?  Is it really that expensive to do?  All of us who do music daily have to track and overdub through these crappy, cheap front ends in our multichannel IOs, yikes!

Why have professional product manufacturers abandoned high end analog design and those who care about sound by sacrificing the IO's input circuitry?

Does anyone who makes this stuff care out there?

Maybe we should ask George to build one with the same purity in analogue curcuit design as in the GML micpre.
