Holy Smokes. I lost 2 vehicles in the Hurricane Ivan myself. I feel your pain and wish you the best.

the main trunk (and weight) of the tree barely missed both cars.

three people, a chainsaw, and 2 hours time, we were able to see that both cars escaped with only a few dents and dings......i got really lucky

not something you want to wake up to though.

If you look carefully, you can see the rims of one of my cars here...

Imagine the destruction, this used to look like a golf course green.

I covered it with a tarp...did no good.

yeah, at that point, you stop worrying about your car (per se) and can only think about how to get ALL THAT TREE out of the way.

I think two of you should feel pretty lucky you were not outside washing your cars while jamming with headphones on when the tree's came tumbling down. Shocked

I still use a wood stove..too bad ya all don't live closer.

Hey jhall... I used to live in Knob Noster Mo Smile ever heard of it?

Peace,
Dennis

46 trees of various sizes. Largest, over 3 feet in diameter, 1 foot of it cut is almost a half ton. Been 10 weeks now and (or 11 lost count) the yard is at 90%. Neighbors, thank goodness. We all helped each other dig out. I am happy to see you are safe and the damage was minimal. Too bad for the tree though. I had 2 pecans that I cut the logs for taking to the mill to make some "special speakers" out of.

This is 2.5 acres of total destruction, house was barely spared, roof damage, et al.

ouch, i'm sorry man, at least the cars aren't ruined. one of my good friends lost his "new" camaro (he had just poured his paychecks into this thing) when his neighbor "accidentally" cut a major limb off a tree that was overhanging his driveway, completely ruined the car. sad news was the mods weren't on insurance so he got nearly nothing out of it.

Man..  that area got hit hard.  Being in Jax, we didn't realize how hard until we traveled west on I-10 to New Orleans.  We stopped at a truck stop and couldn't beleive that there were still FEMA trucks and emergency workers getting supplies out to people.  This was just two weeks ago!

I hope you and none of your loved ones were hurt in all that.

yes i've heard of it....you're better of in seattle, IMO.

WOW bill, my one tree down was NOTHING compared to what you're going through.

my neighbor and i had that tree cut up and stacked up in 45 minutes (bradford pear, soft wood, easy to cut)

i couldn't believe we did all of that so quickly.
