Hi,
I have just received a brazilian magazine concerning what they claim to be a solver to the problem of piracy. It is called SMD: Semi Metalic Disc.
Although they do not describe  exactly what it is, to me it looks like a variation of a CD single or similar tho those compact vinyl records with 4/7 songs.
It says that it can reduce up to 80% the final cost of a CD to the end consumer.
I promise to publish more info as I get it.

Is this 80% of the production cost?  They are already dirt cheap to produce.  It is the record labels that still insist upon gouging the consumer with high markups.
