I am a freelance engineer in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada!). I record all kinds of music, but I've been doing mostly heavy or experimental stuff recently. I've been in several bands, and am in two functioning projects right now.
Here is a link to some audio clips. The rest of the website is under construction, sorry!
http://www.mid-fi.com/audio.htmI'll just give a brief speil about the stuff that's on the above page...I recorded and mixed all of it...
Dreaming City was a band that existed in several forms from 1998 to 2004...the drum/guitar stuff is the most recent. It was recorded live, no overdubs. I played drums, and a chap by the name of J Freeman played guitar.
The recording project stuff was from a two year period prior to the guitar/drum stuff. I played drums, bass, and guitar on those songs and J played bass and guitar. We both sang.
The Blasphenaut was a ridiculous disco-gabber-grind outfit in which I played bass. Those songs are from a 10" record that was the last release of Minneapolis label History of the futurE.
Head Hits Concrete is a grind unit that sounds like machinery. I played bass in this one too. Sadly, we just went on indefinite hiatus. These songs are from a very limited 7" that was pressed for our summer tour this past August.
I am in two very new projects, another guitar/drum duo with Darcy from HHC called Prague, and a college-math band called Prada. I haven't played out with either of them, that's how fricken new they are.
Aside from playing, I'm trying to set up a studio...difficult task, indeed.
That's about where I'm at now.
This is a cool thread.
