Where to get replacement shock cord for mic shock mount?
« on: October 15, 2004, 10:31:33 AM »

I have an AKG 414 shock mount w/broken elastic cord and I'd rather replace the elastic cord than buy a new $100 shock mount.

Anyone have a source on replacement elastic shock mount cord?

(Also could use a source on something that ties it off that is more elegant than a square knot.)

Thanks!

I usually replace them with large rubber O-rings.

Check out your local rock-climbing supplier/store, if you've got one.  I found some really nice elastic with a woven black covering at mine.  Might be exactly the thing.

Also check bead stores.  I've gotten lighter-weight elastic at those places.
