I’ve got a short body u47 in front of me with a proper Neumann serial badge on the out shell, but no serial stamped into the frame under the small hole that holds the shell on.  That’s where my long bodies have a serial number that matches the number in the outer shell’s badge.   Did short body 47’s not have these inside serials stamped into the frame?  Or is this suspicious?  🤔

Correct. Serial numbers were no longer embossed on the bottom bell of short-body U47/48.
