That’s fair to point out that the asking price is not the same as the market clearing price. But given that auctions are not common right now for whatever reason, as a buyer I essentially have no options at the price point you suggest is closer to market. I would suggest that, in illiquid markets such as this, there are reasonable, evidence based arguments for both our price estimates and in reality where things end is subject to individual transaction circumstances.

I will say, I feel $2000 is too much for a mic worth 10-15,000 and a tube that may or may not work. So, in part, following your advice, I have passed on a few options.
