U47 physical wiring diagram/layout
« on: April 30, 2020, 07:19:08 PM »

I was reading this great thread about the function of each component in the mic, and tracing them on the schematic and the mic. https://repforums.prosoundweb.com/index.php?topic=35368.0

But I was wondering if there’s a wiring layout diagram anywhere?  For example, I can’t see (without some serious disassembly) how C3 physically connects to ground.  (Is there a jumper from the underside of the resistor ladder board?  From R8 down to the mounting post for C3?

Just wondered if such a diagram exists.

I am not aware of a component layout / wiring routing diagram for this or any other Neumann mic.
In the U47, C3 is connected to ground via a black wire terminated at the inside of the lowest of five eyelets on the left side of the impedance strapping board.

Thank you, Klaus.  And is the other end of that black wire you mention (C3 ground) typically connected to the underside of the resistor ladder board at the R8 eyelet?  (I can't see where it the other end terminates...)
