On the Re-released U-67, the capsule sits higher up. Why? Why not stay with the older lower height?

Is it possible this has any effect on the sound?

When I visited Neumann in Berlin, a couple fo weeks ago, Martin Schneider showed me the whole evolution of KK67/KK87/KK870 heads. Among other changes through the decades, capsule height changed as well (by the way, the U67 Reissue uses the same capsule head as the current U87Ai), but I do not think acoustic reflections would be audibly significantly affected.

I will make some tests, when I get around to it, and install the same K67 in an old KK67 head and a current one.
I'll report back what if anything I found to be different.

Did Martin divulge anything of interest about the tensioning / low end issues regarding k67/870 capsule production?
