In Klaus’s u67 reissue teardown two different types of original cable were mentioned. Belden 3344 cable, and Dörfler-made cable. Were these labelled in an obvious way (printing on jacket)? Or if not, is there an easy way to identify?

The Dörfler cable can be identified by its double corkscrew shield of raw copper strands, the Belden used a traditional braided tinned copper shield.

Externally, the Belden has a slivery shiny jacket, while the Dörfler has a matte dark gray jacket.
Neither is labeled.

Does the Belden cable have different gauge conductors for the heater and ground?  (Like GAC7) Or extra conductors for “doubling up”?  (I’ve seen some photos using twisted pairs of conductors.). How many conductors in the original Belden?

The Belden is a classic multi-conductor cable. It came in all kinds of conductor numbers. It uses a different color for each conductor, but all conductors have the same diameter. There is no additional shielding, separation, or sizing difference of any of the conductors.
