Neumann M49 / M50 mounting alternatives
« on: January 16, 2017, 07:47:52 AM »

Hi there, i am looking for an alternative mounting solution for M49 and M50 microphones besides the yokes and swivel mounts.

Any around?

I could bet i have seen a P&P Berlin made spider mount for those at some point.P&P are no longer though...

Thank you!
Matthias

You might contact tab funkenwerk and see if Dennis there has a lead on any.

They have M49 kits in stock as of a few weeks ago, so there is a good chance they also have the spider mounts they have sold over the years.

(Though I had previously speculated that they may have been getting theirs from P&P...)

Not sure what mount is pictured in the photo above, but here is a Neumann Pinboard thread from 2008 on the subject, and it does not look like a genuine Neumann suspension mount has been issued for that mic in a long time, if ever. I certainly have never seen one:

I was under the impression that P&P made one on their own - not as a Neumann product.
Its a shame those are no longer. Thanks for the hint George!
