This should be obvious, but....

When you master a track and are asked to do the full version as well as a vs. w/o LdV, do you simply run the vs. w/o LdV thru with the same settings as used for the full vs.?....or do you treat is as a different track altogether?

I eq it the same but back off on the peak limiting and put five seconds between tracks because they're only going to be used one at a time.

A great trick I've seen occasionally is to also do a version with the lead vocal mixed in real low which I understand can really help the singer in a lot of less than ideal performance situations.

Generally run it exactly the same here. Typically not a lot of limiting going on, though...
