I used to install Uptown back in the late 1980's. You will need a 386 or 486 PC running Dos 6. Perhaps a local museum has one?

Then you will need to be versed in installing and aligning it, maintaining it and finding obsolete cards and parts when they fail, and they will.

After installation, you may need to add extra screening around the faders to prevent digital code noises from leaking into the audio faders that are stuck right up against the controller cards. You will also need to have all new fader panels manufactured to fit the automation control switches. I had that done and it costs about $3500 back then.

It may be easier and cheaper to hire a row of monkeys to push those faders for you, or do what everyone else seems to be doing, controlling levels from the stem feeds rather than with audio faders.

The 636 is a mush machine, investing in improving the mix sonics would give more bang for the buck.

Sorry if this is a downer, but like the gambler says, you got to know when to hold 'um, know when to fold 'um.
