Replacing or restoring a u67 swivel mount
« on: December 08, 2014, 09:04:37 PM »

I have a u67 with an original swivel mount that is a little worn.

A couple of questions, how often do this fail?  my u67 is in great condition with nary a ding so I would hate for this to fall.

Are there any sources for a u67 swivel mount of a u67 cable that I could use with a shock mount

Thanks in advance for any advice

NEUMANN U67 swivel mounts never fail, as far as my experience goes. What fails over time is the friction washer inside the female connector. This is a vital component that, if it is missing or dried up, will crack the phenolic Tuchel connector material, and render the connector insert dysfunctional.

don't believe there are any more sources for a new genuine swivel mount (Uwe Sattler may chime in whether there are any left to purchase). But they come up occasionally on eBay.

Sorry, I am not aware of availability for any original U67 swivel mounts.
