What mics was the Neumann PSU NN 48 b designed for?
« on: February 01, 2014, 07:08:59 PM »

Hi,
What mics was the Neumann PSU NN 48 b designed for?

I know it's sort of an abstract question, but I have been looking at different power supply schematics and sometimes I forget to consider how their designs have context to the mics.

 Thank You.

The context is always the tube that is used in a particular mic model. You can use the NN48 with all mics that use the AC701 tube.

Some mics work without adaptation of the connector [M(2)49, M(2)50, KM(2)5x, KM5x, others may require mounting an extra connector or reassigning connector pins, or adding components (Schoeps M221, AKG C60).

Thanks Klaus,
I saw the 4 volt heater output but didn't want to presume I knew enough to conclude it was for the AC701-K.

 Thanks for the list.

 Best regards,
Mike
