The solution to not stripping the threads on mic clips and suspensions are Atlas LO-2B quick release adaptors. They rock! Makes it so quick to swap out mics too.

 If you use LO-2 stand adapters make sure you wire tie the cabling of your mic to the stand/boom to serve as a "safety". Just the slightest touch can send your classic mic plummeting to the floor with an LO-2 without back-up securing. They don't call them "quick" for nothing!
