Urei 1122 Phono Preamp Trimmers
« on: December 08, 2013, 11:44:33 AM »

Wondering if anyone has any firm clue as to how the pcb mounted high and low frequency trimmers inside the
Urei 1122 work.

The word "trimmer" makes me thing cut only.

If anyone can tell by looking at the schematic (link below) if they are cut only or cut/boost, please confirm which.

If I wanted to bypass the filters is there a simple way to jump around them?

The trimmers are to match the RIAA curve. What they do is fine tune the two frequencies at which the curves occur.  If I remember, the low frequency sets the frequency at which the 6db/octave filter (downward) flattens out, then the high frequency set the frequency at which the 6dB/octave curve downward begins again for the high frequencies.
