Thanks for responding Fletcher, If I weren't down here in Virginia, I would be tempted to take this off his hands. If only as a conversation piece. He mentions cutting to vinyl but wouldn't something like this cut to lacquer disks, not plastic?

As the gentleman says, no one ever heard of these, or that there were multitrack versions used by Motown. I've read quite a bit about Hitsville but don't remember this brand name mentioned. If anyone has heard of these I imagine it would be you sir. Can you corroborate or refute this gentleman's claims? And no, I'm not thinking of buying it. When you get as old as I am (60), it's fun to hear the history of this stuff. Dean

I just don't see him getting his asking price. Lightly used or not, you know it's going to need work. When machines like this get old there are so many parts that just dry out and crumble. Unless the parts are direct swap outs of the Ampex he compares it to, he's never going to find them. I'm assuming its a 1/4 inch, but it might be 1/2inch. I can't tell from the picture. I hope Fletcher or Mr. Williams can enlighten us to this things history. Dean
