I just wanted to share some pictures of my new tube microphone.
It is a rare Swedish made Sela PT6 that was developed in the 40´s and made its debut in 1947.
I have a few Sela mics from the T2X series from before, which uses either a M7 or K47 capsule and a AC701k tube, but i had only ever heard about these mics previously.

The PT6 uses a M7 capsule with a modified lollipop head that mounts to the body at a 50 degree angle (the T2X series had the capsule angled inside a "mini U47" head and body assembly).
They were obviously made for the film industry and to make it lighter for the boomboy the output transformer is mounted in the powersupply.
There was also a version named T12 that had the transformer inside the body and also a PT8 with the transformer again in the PS but with several addtional output impedance taps.

The tube is a selected RCA 6AK5 and you can see the schematic and read more about Sela mics here (but only in Swedish i am afraid).

Hi Dennis, And thanks for the pics! Since you have more Selas, please let us see them too!
The linked pages really are nice and informative. Ever since I have known about them( a few years), I have visited them regularly. But then again I can read Swedish without a problem, because I learned it at school and used to live in Stocholm in the early eighties. It seems to me that these mics were(are) not much known outside of Sweden for some reason, although clear connections to Neumann are evident(M7, NKMa...). It was also mentioned, that the capsule-housing of PT6 either came from Neumann Gefell or - Berlin, an interesting detail indeed:
Längst uppe på kapselhusets topp, på ringen som håller gallret, sitter det en liten knopp om kapselhuset är tillverkat av Neumann Gefell. Den där knoppen finns inte på kapselhus tillverkade av Neumann Berlin.

The connector is a genuine Tuchel (West Germany) 5-pin stereo.

But I am incredulous that housing parts would have come from Neumann/Berlin: They were not known to assist other mic manufacturers (other than sporadically helping MG in Gefell).

Trade relations between Sweden (a neutral country neither allied with the Western or Eastern block in post war years) and East Germany would have made it possible for Gefell to manufacture parts.

Yes,please show us some pictures of the 2X series.
I have a black bodied PT-8,cardiod,M7 cap,EF95/6AK5 tube.The PSU was built by LOMO much like their 19A9.I believe it's from 1957.I had Peter Drefahl rebuild it keeping the transformer,and reskin the cap.It's the most rotund/round/girthy tube mic I have.
 I believe this is characteristic of a one sided M7 in such a headbasket with a cathode follower and external xformer.
Is this what others have found?
Not a versatile mic but great for intimate warm vocals.

Happy to hear that there are more people out there that know of this largely unknonwn Swedish brand.
Below are some pics of one T24 and one T25 with the largest difference between the two are the use of a M7 in the T24 and K47 in the T25.
Both are great sounding microphones.

Klaus, i have gotten confirmation from Neumann that Sela did buy capsules from them in the 50´s and 60´s.
Sela was also Neumanns retailer in Sweden in the 50-60´s so they were in direct contact with Neumann Berlin.
In this case i believe they bought new, complete lollipop heads and modified them to mount on their own bodies.

Also, Sela did not make any own powersupplies but sold Neumann Nkm, BB12 battery supplies or refered to Pearl (another great Swedsih maker if mics that also used the AC701k tube) supplies.

SELA made their stuff for film industry, they used Neumann capsules but tried to make the mics lighter and easier to aim -hence the capsule orientation.
