B & W Diamond Series or Other Fancy Monitors?
« on: January 02, 2013, 09:37:36 AM »

B & W Diamond Series
I have been really thinking of doing a big leap concerning Monitors but based on the price quote I received from a store in Brazil, seems a pair of B & W 800 costs almost the price of a small apartment!

THe 805 are the cheaper models they had on stock, but still pricey.

Of course I would do a deeper search with other stores but I was shocked by the prices that were informed!

I know there are several threads here, including some topics I myself wrote in 2010/2011 ( comparisons and opinions Between Lipinskis 707s, Dynaudio C4s).

So what has changed or appeared as really good but not costing the price of a Kidney?

Compared to the 800 and 802, now the Dynaudio C4s look cheap! LOL

Thanks

A used pair of Tyler D1's would still leave you money for amps and a dinner.

Daaaaaang - He's got a set (probably gently used) for $5200 in the bad-ass Cherry (or "custom" cherry or whatever he calls it).

LOL
In fact we have similar LCD/LED placements!

The D1s and the D2 at the link above are really fine. I wished they were closer to my door.
