United, the free nations of the world can overpower those who would enslave the will of mankind and a team needs a leader. We are that leader and thereby must act like leaders, pushing on when others are to afraid.

how old are you ... 25?  18?

#1  The world is not "united" behind Big Hat ... it's as scared of him as you are of Saddam.

#2  Islamofascists are not going away, they can only be CONTAINED or INFLAMED.

Bush is doing the latter by making Bil Laden look like a prophetic genius.

Quote:

Since 9/11 we have set an example worldwide that we will stand united against the threat of terror and that those who threaten peace will not be tolerated.

The US has brought 20 years of War to that region you moron ... we had them fighting our wars.  We empowered the Taliban and Saddam once upon a time.  The US is a beacon of hope ... not under Bush however.  Now we are the bully, afraid and pushing around our weight , not leading anyone.

Leadership does not take moxy ... that's a myth ... it takes courage and patience.  Bush lacks both.

Quote:

We are empowering other nations to take the same stance and setting the example for the rest of the free world to follow. Today, terrorists are not going to be organized enough to pull off another 9/11 thanks to nations over the world uniting in a common goal - Stamp out terror wherever it is. Who was the first to call all nations to arms? George W. Bush. He's not lying when he says the world is now safer.

Sure he's lying ... ask anyone in the FBI.  Before Iraq the Al Qaeda was in the 100s, now it's the 1000s.

Quote:

As far as Afghanistan goes, we accomplished our mission. The Taliban had to be overthrown for us to accomplish a very important project for the future or our economy, so 9/11 was sort of a "free shot" at it. The hunt for Osama Bin Laden would have been too vast, expensive, long and de-moralizing of a campaign to fight by ourselves and the Bush administration knew that.

wow dude, you're nuts.

Quote:

9/11 had thrown everyone for a loop and Bush reacted the only way he could.

Yea, he sat on his ass in front of kids for 7 minutes

Quote:

Sure, maybe Iraq was a way for Bush to close the book on our involvement in Afghanistan and the fact that Bush wasn't going to carry on a lone wolf international man hunt. If you were president at the time and knew that you could spend the rest of your time in office chasing one man or make changes worldwide that would impact every terrorist organization, what would you do?

You would get that one man and the money flow, and build allies. Period.  he has given every worl dleader the green light ot act irresponsibly and arrogantly ... if you want to call that leadership, go ahead, i call it irresponsible.

Clearly Iraq was on the agenda pre 9/11 ... going back to post-Reagan ... and to see othwise is a lie.

Here's Bush's Brain ... well that and Karl Rove.  They want bases in the Mid East and 9/11 was MANIPULATED by Bush.  He's a traitor, not a patriot.

A President who leads with fear is a failure of leadership at the very least and Bush does this all the time (pre-Iraq, pre-election).

A President who does not ask all Americans, including the rich, for money and sacrifice in a time of war is an idiot (see: budget)  Even Reagan saw that his tax cut was a failure ... but not Bush ... he has conviction!  Like a child that WANTS THAT CANDY BAR!!!!

Wah, wah wah! (insert typical liberal rhetoric here.)

I'm going to laugh hard when Bush is re-elected. It will show you liberal whiners out there that leadership and determination will always prevail over wishy-washy liberals. If you can't see that Bush has shown great courage to defend this war and his beliefs that what he is doing is right for our nation, then you are simply brain-washed by the Kerry camp. I could never trust a person who supports us going to war, then says it was a mistake, then turns back around and says it was a good thing. Bush sticks to his guns when the pressure is on. Kerry flip-flops in order to make himself look good.

Bush IS going to win. All you liberals out there might as well get used to that fact.

You know, whoever thought of these elections had their thinkin' cap on for sure.

Say you're a dictator- every day is a potential coup, you have to defend your position on a daily basis.

But in the US, for example, there is only 1 day out of every 1500 days that there's any possibility of the office changing hands! That's 1500 times as good, for sure. And if you can hold onto it by hooks or by crooks for that one day, you're safe for another 1500 days.

Any possibility of revolution is damped by the idea that, well, there's always that one day in 1500 when we might be able to oust the bum.

It doesn't matter what the voters think on any day  except that day. Everybody could want to oust the guy on any other day, and it doesn't matter. Just get the folks voting the right way on your 1 day out of 1500, and you're good.

Being someone who loves political science, especially in regard to the CIA, I have a suggestion on an excellent film to watch. It's called Uncovered: The whole truth abouth the Iraq war. It has interviews with former CIA director Stansfield Turner, former CIA analysts Ray McGovern and Mel Goodman, and former CIA operative Robert Baer.

Transplanted American here (Just in case the Canadian location in my profile suggests to some I shouldn't comment on this)and I have a couple things to say to our young Bush supporter. First off, I find it interesting that most Republicans seem to think enough alike to spew virtually the same rhetoric, like a bunch of idiot automatons. Obviously the hype works on the weak minded. Secondly, if you feel so strongly about what is happening in Iraq, why not join up? Thirdly, using the term liberal like it is a bad thing is simply stupid, although I don't expect you to get it. Tolerance is a good thing, intolerance isn't. Give George Bush and his ultra conservative dopes enough rope, and in the name of looking after your rights they'll be every bit as bad as the Taliban. Wherever you live, and in whatever country, healthy suspicion of your government is a good thing, too. This idea that they always know best and have better and more in-depth info than we lowly citizens hasn't played out very well recently has it? Finally, and here is a sobering thought, Americans kill at least five times more Americans each and every year than were lost in the World Trade Center. So if you feel safer today because George invaded Iraq with the army, and your lives, with John Ashcroft, there is something seriously wrong with your perspective.

It seems that there is an internal struggle right now between the Bush administration and the CIA. Which seems odd given that Bush Sr is a former chief spook. For example...

A) The resignation of George Tennet is very odd considering the timing. Supposedly it's for personal reasons, probably a strong personal dislike of W. Tennet seems to have a much greater repect for President Clinton.

B) The controversy between Karl Rove and Jim Wilson over the "outing" of Jim Wilson's wife, a CIA WMD specialist. According to Wilson, Robert Novak called Wilson saying that Karl Rove said Wilson's wife is "Fair Game".

C) And of course there is the mockery that the Bush administration has made of the CIA by citing the CIA selectively. "Uncovered" was definitly an opportunity for former CIA big wigs to say, "It's not our fault".

With all the information that is available, the current state of politics makes a mockery of the American people. A co-worker of mine recently said, "That Noam Chomsky, if he loves communism so much why doesn't he move to Russia." Where does all this propaganda come from? Why do we Americans suffer from this terrible ignorance? Why is there such a great division in the intellect and the mindset of the American people?

Well, there's a whole industry dedicated to misinformation, and there's television too... big ad agencies like the one that created Joe Camel work for the government and who ever else can come up with the money. It takes a whole lot of hard work and research to find out what's really going on. They don't teach us that in school.

It's an oligarchy, pure and simple- government by and for the very rich. Who will be president next has everything to do with who has the most money left to spend just before the election- and of course with many tens of millions invested in such a thing, you can't really afford to say or do anything but what seems like it will make good on the gamble.
